Raval is a neighborhood in the heart of the Ciutat Vella District of Barcelona with a certain complexity of social phenomena. This has led to the existence of a large and varying network of services and associations which believe in and work to achieve the promotion and improvement of the quality of life in the neighborhood.

The foundation acts as a coordination platform for the people of Raval and wants to achieve its objectives by means of the involvement and participation of its organizations, institutions, businesses and individual members. Not only regarding the decision making but also the co-responsibility in the design and execution of the agreed projects.

To achieve this end we need to carry out a deep analysis of the dynamics and needs of the neighborhood, and to have better knowledge of the projects carried out.

By working together on projects and coordinating the members, we also want to support new projects. This is not about duplicating the initiatives, but to reinforce the existing ones according to the foundation’s purpose.

In order to promote the neighborhood, Fundació Tot Raval wants to work in three major areas: social and education, cultural and artistic and economical and commercial. The interconnection of these three frameworks, gives some of the projects have an integral character, and are not confined to just to one area.

Social and educative

This aspect involves personal services, education, community dynamism, citizen participation, training for the unemployed, assistance, immigration, citizens rights and responsibilities, etc.

Cultural and artistic

We want to promote the representation of the various cultures, regarding their traditions, music and artistic productions within the activities of the neighborhood in order to respond to the demands of the various communities inside an intercultural framework.

Economic and commercial

It is aimed to develop an innovative integrated working method with employers and in companies in the area . The purpose is to overcome to the difficulties of finding vacant posts in sectors which usually need workers, and to stimulate economic development, thus helping to promote the neighborhood.
